Cycling 40 Miles
We begin our C2C adventure with our first 40 miles of cycling on the beautiful Pinellas Trail. In about 10 miles we’ll cycle across the 1/2 mile long Bayou Pedestrian Bridge with amazing views of the bayou. After our lunch stop in Clearwater we diverge from the Pinellas Trail for a glorious 2-mile ride along the waterfront with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico before knocking out our last 4 miles, reaching the Tarpon Turtle for happy hour and the end of today’s ride.
Day 2: Tarpon Springs to Brooksville
Cycling 52 Miles
We begin today on the Tri-County and Starkey bike trails which takes us through Starkey Nature Preserve, an isolated gem offering nearly 20 miles of cycling through pristine wilds, and which connects us to our first 32 miles on the Suncoast Trail before ending our day’s ride in Brooksville.
Day 3: Brooksville to Minneola
Cycling 50 Miles
On today’s ride we’ll knock out 26 miles on rural backroads through farmlands, which is nearly all of the on-road miles we’ll encounter on this tour. But the 26 miles is flanked on the west by 10 miles of gorgeous cycling on the Withlacoochee Trail, and by 10 more beautiful miles on the east on the South Lake Trail which runs between Lakes Minneola and Minnehaha, with lovely Lake Minnehaha being our stop for the evening.
Day 4: Minneola to Deltona
Cycling 50 Miles
We start the day with 10 more beautiful miles on the South Lake Trail before it connects with the West Orange Trail, which we’ll follow for the next 15 miles taking in the sunshine and scenery along the way. We’ll cycle a 5-mile segment on road before connecting to the Seminole Wekiva Trail, the Cross Seminole Trail and finally to the Spring-to-Spring Trail, with excellent chances of seeing Manatees at the many pools we cycle past along the way. We end our day in Debary, our stop for the evening.
Day 5: Deltona to Cape Canaveral
Cycling 50 Miles
Our last day of cycling will be an exciting one as we make our final push to the Space Coast and Cape Canaveral. We jump back on the Spring-to-Spring Trail for just a couple of miles before connecting with the East Central Regional Trail which we’ll follow for approx. 35 miles. Our last 12 miles is on the Max Brewer Memorial Parkway, which is a quiet, scenic road with fabulous views, and which delivers us to Playa Linda Beach and the end of this exciting adventure!
